The group of white supremacists in Virginia Beach marched openly and in formation, carrying symbols and flags similar to what participants of the deadly August 2017 Unite the Right rally displayed in Charlottesville. The 2017 racist rally shocked the nation and left a counter-protester, Heather Heyer, dead after a white supremacist, James Alex Fields, intentionally rammed his car into a group of counter protesters on August 12, 2017.
Yesterday a smaller group of organized extremists marched publicly testing the boundaries of fear, visibility and political silence. Why the group selected Memorial Day weekend for their visible action unknown.
